Wednesday, February 3, 1:00pm  - Setters Practice at Madison Community Center is ON FOR TODAY!!!  The U17/18 team will practice at Thomas Jefferson Community Center from 5 - 7pm if enough girls are available.  Contact Guery to let him know whether you can be there.

THE AVC U17/18 TEAM WON THE SILVER DIVISION AT THE HAMPTON ROADS INVITATIONAL ON MAY 17/18, 2008, BRINGING THEIR SEASON MEDAL TALLY TO THREE. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO END THE SEASON!

CONGRATULATIONS 16's!! THEY FOUGHT THROUGH A 16-TEAM DRAW, TAKING HOME THE RUNNER-UP TROPHY, SILVER DIVISION, HAMPTON ROADS INVITATIONAL, MAY 18, 2008. SECOND MEDAL OF THE SEASON, FOLLOWING A GOLD DIVISION GOLD MEDAL AT THE ROSE AND PANSY BOWL ON APRIL 27, 2008.

THE AVC U15 TEAM TOOK GOLD IN THE BRONZE DIVISION OF 2008 REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, ONLY DROPPING ONE GAME ALL DAY. CONGRATULATIONS FOR A JOB WELL DONE!

MARYMOUNT COACH TO HELP AVC PLAYERS WITH RECRUITING

New this season, Beth Ann Wilson, head coach at Marymount University, will be conducting a recruiting seminar and assisting AVC players who plan to play volleyball in college.  For more recruiting information, check our Recruiting link.

  

AVC STRENGHENS TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
This year all teams will play more than ever before.  AVC plans to play multi-day tournaments at Monument City in Richmond, Capitol Classic in DC, Shamrock in Roanoke, Capitol Fest in Boyds and the Hampton Roads Invitational as well as playing 5 or 6 regional tournaments.  Check our Tournament Schedule link for information specific to individual teams.

 

NEW!  AVC SETTERS PRACTICE
AVC Coach Valerie Soto will return to conduct specialized training sessions for setters and right sides 2 to 3 times per month throughout the 2009/10 season.  A setter herself in high school and on her D2 college team, she will share her technical expertise with these AVC players.


AVC ADDS U14 TEAM
In an effort to provide younger players more opportunities to play volleyball, AVC will field a U14 team this year for middle school girls.
